One of my best friends, Gemma, lives in New York, so my friend Sarah and I took a little trip to visit her! It was my first time in New York and I had a fantastic time. I have always dreamed of going there (my Tumblr used to be called ‘DreamsOfManhattan’). However, strangely, I actually loved LA more. I hope all the New Yorkers reading this don’t hate me for it!
We stayed at Gemma’s place in Tribeca, the financial district. Her flat is amazing and has views of One World Trade Centre.
We took a little trip down and saw the memorial of 9/11. It absolutely broke my heart to stand in the places where so many lives were lost 15 years ago. I remember exactly where I was when that horror unfolded. It warmed my heart to see that the staff at the memorial place a flower on an engraved name when it is their birthday. I think that’s a beautiful touch and somehow keeps the lost souls alive <3.
